1 — Summary
Receh is an expense tracking app. All your financial records and receipt photos are stored on your own device. The developer does not run any servers, has no user accounts, and does not receive, view, or sell your data.
Receipts are read by a text recognizer that runs on your device. Receipt photos are not sent over the internet to be read.
Backup to Google Drive is optional and is stored in your own Google Drive account, in a hidden folder reserved for Receh. Receh cannot see any other files in your Drive.
Since version 1.0.3, Receh shows native ads from Google AdMob on the Home, History, and Report screens, always labeled "Ad". AdMob receives the advertising ID, device data, and ad interactions; your financial records, receipt photos, and backup contents are never shared with AdMob (see section 5).
2 — Data Stored
The following data is kept in Receh's private storage on your device, and contains only what you enter yourself:
Amount, type (expense/income), category, wallet, store name, note, date and time.
Item name, quantity, unit price, and subtotal from receipts you scan or type in.
Only if you choose to keep them. This can be turned off per transaction or for all scans.
Language, currency, number format, theme, and the categories and wallets you create.
If you sign in with Google: email address, name, and profile photo URL, shown in the app. Stored on your device only.
3 — Use
Your data is used only to run the app's features on your device:
No user profiles, credit scoring, or marketing are built from your data.
4 — Storage & Backup
By default your data exists only on your device. Data leaves your device only in the following ways:
If you choose Sign in with Google, Receh stores backup files in the hidden app data folder (appDataFolder) of your Google Drive account, using the drive.appdata permission. This permission only grants access to files created by Receh itself; Receh cannot see, read, or modify any other files in your Drive.
Android may back up app data to your device's Google account according to your device backup settings, and restore it when you set up a new device. For Receh, this cloud backup includes only the transaction database and settings, without receipt photos. Receipt photos are only included in a direct device-to-device transfer (cable or Wi-Fi) when setting up a new device.
You can export a backup as a .receh file and save or send it anywhere you choose. Once exported, the file is entirely under your control.
Before the data on your device is replaced by a backup, Receh keeps one copy of the existing data in the app's private storage so that a mistaken restore can be undone.
5 — Third Parties
Receh uses the following Google services. Each is subject to Google's privacy policy.
| Service | Purpose | Data involved | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google ML Kit Text Recognition |
Reading text from receipt photos | Photos are processed on the device and are not sent to Google. According to ML Kit's official disclosure, the service may contact Google servers for updates and send performance and API usage metrics (not the contents of photos or receipt text). | Active when scanning |
| Google Sign-In | Signing in for Google Drive backup | Email, name, and profile photo of the account you choose. Stored on the device for display, not sent to the developer. | Optional |
| Google Drive API | Saving and restoring backups | Backup files in Receh's hidden folder in your Drive (drive.appdata permission). |
Optional |
| Google AdMob | Showing native ads | Android advertising ID, device identifiers, IP address (for approximate location), device and app information, and ad impressions and taps. Used by Google to serve and measure ads, for analytics, and for fraud prevention, and may be shared with Google's advertising partners. See how Google uses data from partner apps. | Active when ads load |
| Android Backup Service | Automatic restore when changing devices | Transaction database and settings, without receipt photos, to your device's Google account. | Follows device settings |
6 — Permissions
com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID) — added by the AdMob SDK for ads; can be reset or deleted in Android settings.7 — Security
Data is stored in the app's private storage, which Android prevents other apps from accessing. Communication with Google services uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Receh never asks for or stores your Google account password; signing in is handled entirely by Google.
Data security also depends on your device. We recommend using a screen lock and protecting your Google account with 2-Step Verification.
8 — Your Control
All data can be viewed, edited, and deleted directly in the app.
Because the developer does not keep your data on any server, there is no data held by the developer that needs to be requested for deletion. A full guide, including data retention periods, is on the Delete Account & Data page.
9 — Children
Receh is intended for adults managing their personal finances, not for children. The app is not designed or marketed for users under the age set by the laws that apply in your region.
10 — Changes
This policy may be updated as Receh gains new features. The "Effective" date at the top is updated whenever there is a meaningful change, and changes involving new data — a new third-party service, a new data type, or a new transmission path — are written here before the feature is released, not after.
This policy is available in Indonesian and English. If the two versions differ, the Indonesian version prevails.
